Commercial growth through better websites

From complex website rebuilds to ongoing content management, I bring together strategy, messaging, user journeys, and copy to help websites work harder.

Explore some of the website projects I've led and the results they have delivered.

Two organisations. Two distinct brands. Two new websites built around their audiences.

CILEX/CILEX Law School: Legal qualifications, education, and professional membership.

The challenge: Years of organic growth had left both websites difficult to navigate, manage and maintain. Content was outdated and inconsistent, user journeys were unclear, and the sites did not support the organisations’ commercial ambitions.

CILEX and CILEX Law School also needed distinct identities and websites, while retaining a clear connection between the two brands.

My role: Working in a freelance capacity alongside a specialist digital agency, I led the marketing and content side of both website projects. This included:

  • Auditing the existing content.
  • Refreshing the two brands and helping shape the website designs.
  • Creating the site structures and key user journeys.
  • Writing the complete website copy, including calls to action and metadata.
  • Turning marketing and audience needs into clear requirements for the agency.

The result: The new websites are due to launch November 2026 with:

  • Clearer routes through complex qualifications, services, and membership information.
  • More engaging, audience-focused copy designed to support conversion.
  • Two distinctive brand experiences that still feel part of the same family.
  • Modern WordPress websites that will be much easier for the internal teams to manage.

A commercially focused website that increased web leads by 325%.

Sedex: B2B sustainability tech membership body.

The challenge: Sedex’s website was largely designed around the needs of existing members. As the organisation developed a more commercial marketing function, it needed a website that could attract prospective customers, explain the value of its technology and generate more leads.

My role: As Head of Marketing, I led the website project from strategy through to launch, working with a digital agency on the design and technical build. Key activities were:

  • Audited the existing website and set objectives aligned to commercial growth plans.
  • Developed the structure and journeys for key audiences.
  • Created benefit-led copy focused on customer needs.
  • Delivered the website in four languages, with localised elements.
  • Managed agency requirements, delivery, launch, and ongoing improvement.

The result: Web leads increased by 325% YoY during the first two months of launch. The new website also gave Sedex a more modern, commercially confident presence, making its technology and customer value much easier to understand.

Launched December 2022 (In-house role)

Sedex Website - before
Before: An outdated, member-focused website with dense copy and limited emphasis on Sedex’s technology or commercial value.
Sedex Website - after
After: A modern, prospect-focused website with clearer benefits, stronger journeys and a more confident position in the technology market.

Keeping two business-critical websites moving during a major rebuild.

CILEX/CILEX Law School: Legal qualifications, education, and professional membership.

The challenge: Following an earlier technology migration, several hundred CILEX pages could only be edited directly in HTML. The internal marketing team did not have the time or specialist knowledge to manage these changes alongside the rebuild.

My role: I created a straightforward process for teams across the organisations to request website updates. I managed and completed changes across both WordPress sites, including pages that required direct HTML editing.

The result: Essential website updates continued throughout the rebuild without adding to the internal team’s workload. The organisations had a reliable way to keep information accurate, while their marketing team remained focused on other priorities.
