Website Messaging and Copy Refresh

Make it easier for the right customers to understand your business – and choose you.

Your business might have moved on, but has your website kept up? Perhaps your services have changed, the copy feels a bit disjointed, or it's not clear what makes you different.

This package combines strategy, messaging, copywriting, and on-page SEO to give you a clearer, stronger website. I will get to know your business, define the messages your customers need to hear, and rewrite your key pages.

Is your website copy due a refresh?

This package is ideal if:

  • Your website no longer reflects your business or ambitions.
  • You find it hard to explain what you do and why it matters.
  • You’re struggling to differentiate your offer from your competitors.
  • Your website has grown over time and the copy feels disjointed or repetitive.
  • Visitors aren’t taking the next step or making enquiries.
  • Your existing copy was written without search visibility in mind.
  • You’re refreshing the design of your website and need stronger copy.

What's included in your website copywriting package?

Business foundations

We’ll begin by looking beyond the existing words on your website. I’ll explore your commercial goals, customers, proposition, competitors, and the role your website needs to play in supporting growth.

Website messaging and positioning

I'll help you get clear on what you offer, who it's for and what makes you different. Together, we'll agree your key messages, benefits and tone of voice, so your website copy sounds like you and connects with the right people.

Website and page planning

Every page should have a purpose and help visitors move towards an appropriate next step. I’ll review your existing website structure and define the purpose, content, and calls to action for up to 15 agreed pages.

Search research and on-page SEO

I'll research the keywords your potential customers are searching for and use what I find to shape your website content, page titles and meta descriptions. This package does not include a technical SEO audit or ongoing keyword monitoring.

Website copywriting

I'll refresh or rewrite up to 15 pages, creating clear, engaging website copy that's easy to read, true to your voice and written with your customers in mind. Every page will have a purpose and encourage visitors to take the next step.

Research & plan

I review your website, market, competitors, and search opportunities, then agree the structure and pages with you.

Agree messages

I will develop your website proposition and core messages. You’ll review and approve this direction before I begin writing the individual pages.

Write & refine

I draft the pages, with two rounds of consolidated feedback. This will then be delivered with a final handover session.

Investment

The Website Messaging and Copy Refresh costs £4,000.

This fixed price covers message development, page planning, search research, and copywriting for up to 15 standard website pages. A standard page is generally up to around 1,000 words.

Long-form resources, substantial case studies, highly technical or regulated copy, ecommerce catalogues, membership platforms, and complex multi-location websites are not included and will be quoted separately.

Projects usually take 4-6 weeks, depending on the complexity and how quickly information and feedback are provided.

Payment is 50% before the work begins and 50% when the final copy is delivered.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my website copy needs updating?

If your website no longer reflects what your business offers, isn't attracting the right customers, or isn't generating the enquiries you'd like, it could be time to review your copy.

Other signs include pages that are difficult to navigate, messaging that feels vague or overly complicated, or content that focuses more on what you do than why it matters to your customers.

Good website copy should make it easy for people to understand what you offer, why they should choose you, and what to do next. If yours isn't doing that, there's probably room for improvement.

Can better website copy help my business get more customers?

Yes, better website copy can help turn more of your website visitors into potential customers.

Clear, engaging content helps people quickly understand what you do, how you can help, and why they should choose your business. It also builds trust, answers common questions, and encourages visitors to take the next step.

When your copy is written with search visibility in mind, it can also help attract more relevant visitors to your website.

It's not just about making the words sound nicer - it's about making your website more effective.

What's the difference between website copywriting and SEO copywriting?

Website copywriting focuses on communicating your message clearly, engaging your audience, and encouraging people to take action.

SEO copywriting does all of that, while also considering how people search online. It involves understanding relevant search terms, matching content to what people are looking for, and structuring pages so search engines can understand them.

The best website content combines both. There's little point attracting visitors from Google if your content doesn't encourage them to stay, and equally, brilliant copy won't achieve much if nobody can find it.

Can you rewrite my website without changing the design?

Yes! You don't need to redesign your website to improve how it communicates with potential customers.

I will review your existing content, refine your key messages, and rewrite agreed pages to make them clearer, more engaging, and better optimised for search engines.

I'll also consider how the content works within your existing website structure, including headings, calls to action, and the way visitors move between pages.

Where I identify opportunities for design or layout improvements, I can recommend these too, but a complete redesign isn't always necessary.
